Briquetting press for the fully automatic compaction of PET bottles and drinks cans

The HSM BRP 4810 briquetting press compacts large quantities of PET bottles and drinks cans, quickly and fully automatically. Traditionally, HSM is well known for channel balers, but does not spring to mind when it comes to the compaction and compression of PET and metal, which cannot be pressed into bales like paper . For this reason, HSM has developed the first briquetting press. The benefits of briquetting: briquettes are small and heavy and thus make optimum use of transport capacities. What’s more, they need no strapping materials, such as steel wire.

The HSM briquetting press is powered by a highly efficient, low maintenance PowerPack and, together with its multilayered compaction capacity, enables a briquette density of around 400 kg/m³ (PET) and around 760 kg/m³ (aluminium drinks cans). It also accommodates a continuous feed by means of a conveyor belt or similar apparatus. The demands on briquetting presses and can crushers for the beverage industry and cash centres are extremely high: PET is a very abrasive material, which quickly subjects machines to heavy wear and tear. Thicker metal and steel of the highest grade are therefore absolutely essential. HSM uses highly wear-resistant steels as standard.
